Linux Server Administrator & Customer Support
Due to our continued expansion we are looking to recruit a Linux Server Administrator, with a special aptitude for Linux servers and the cPanel control panel. This is a full time position and the successful applicant must be available to work from our office in Belfast, N Ireland. We are a 24-hour business and the candidate will be required to work a mixture of day, night and occasional graveyard shifts.
The successful applicant must be confident in performing the role detailed below and they must possess the skills required, including the appropriate qualification detailed below.
Role:
- Install, configure and manage (predominantly Linux-based) webhosting servers.
- Responsible for server management, optimisation and security of webhosting systems.
- Answering customer technical inquiries via our support ticket system, live chat, IM, email and phone
- Quickly resolving any high priority tasks (e.g. server failure) and updating our network status blog
- Liasing with customers and advising them about any technical issues, server upgrades etc.
Skills required:
- Must have a qualification in I.T or Computer Science
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows webhosting and server products
- Knowledge of cPanel and Plesk server control panel products
- Knowledge of network technologies – TCP/IP and DNS etc.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Understanding of HTML/CSS, PHP and MySQL.
- Excellent phone manner and writing skills
- Must be professional, flexible and reliable
